On March 21 and 22, the fourth workshop within the “GMO-free Quality Soybean From the Danube Region” project of the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) was held in Novi Sad. The topic was “The Transfer of Knowledge from Science to Practice as an Instrument for Achieving Economically, Ecologically and Socially Sustainable GMO-free Soybean Production”.

The sales results achieved last year confirmed Victoria Group’s place among the leading exporters in Serbia. According to the reports of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia and the information collected by the Customs Administration in 2016, this company took the tenth place on the list of leading exporters, with the export value of EUR 172.6 million.

Research carried out by the Business Info Group on the largest and most profitable companies in Serbia between 2008 and 2015 focused particularly on export and company performance by sector. The processing industry is the second most common sector after the commercial sector, and it generates nearly a quarter of the total business income within the group of 100 best ranked companies.

A certified validation of compliance with the FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) 22000 standard was given at Sojaprotein in November by the SGS certification company. By obtaining a positive report, compliance with the highest requirements of the food safety management system was proven.

The fourth International Danube Soya Congress Sustainable Soya – Sustainable Europe organized by the Danube Soya Association and the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary was held on November 24 and 25 in Budapest.

An international workgroup was held in Skopje on November 8 and 9 as part of the Support to the Establishment and Advancement of Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) in Western Balkan Countries and the Republic of Moldova project, implemented by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe, and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. The Register is a European record of industrial plants from the standpoint of environmental protection.

The international conference SEE ENERGY - Connect&Supply 2016 organized by SERBIO, the National Agency for Biomass, was held on November 15 and 16 in Novi Sad, with the goal of promoting the use of biomass for thermal energy production and the networking of all actors involved in the renewable energy sources (RES) sector.

The introduction of standards and the vertical integration of agriculture is imperative in the process of domestic agricultural development and its positioning on the market of the European Union – this was one of the conclusions on the first day of the “Food for Europe” (“Hrana za Evropu”) forum.

Victoria Group is among top 10 exporters in Serbia according to the report of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia and the data from the Customs Administration. The Group took the ninth position with the export value of €126.1 million in the first nine months of this year.

The “Bakers and Millers Conference” was held at Novi Sad Fair from October 6 to 8. Current topics related to this branch were discussed at this year’s conference, which was held for the 21st time. A fair exhibition was added to the program for the first time. Visitors had an opportunity to learn about the equipment used by bakers and millers, to see how baked goods are prepared and baked in mini bakeries on several booths, and to enjoy the tasting.
