This year, in the period from the beginning of May until the end of October, the World Fair "EXPO 2015" is being held in Milan, with the theme ”Food for the planet - energy for life”. According to predictions, more than 20 million visitors are expected to visit EXPO 2015, and more than 100 countries are to participate in it. The Republic of Serbia is participating for the second time in this manner, with the aim of promoting its national identity by presenting tourism and its local economy.

As part of the 82nd International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, a Round Table was held on the topic of the future of soybean production in Serbia, in order to point out the importance of this topic and to determine the impact of market liberalization on the production of soybean.

The Third Danube Soya congress, which was held in Berlin from May 6 to 8, saw more than 400 participants from Europe, America, and Australia. Victoria Group’s representatives at the congress were: Marta Kinka, Sales Manager at Sojaprotein; Aleksandra Bauer, General Manager at SP Laboratory; and Natalija Kurjak, Marketing Manager at Victoria Logistic. Those visiting the company’s exhibit stand had the opportunity to get detailed information about the production portfolio of Sojaprotein, and the possibilities of cooperation.

After Sojaprotein was the first in the region to receive the Danube Soya certificate for its traditional soy protein concentrates at the end of last year, this year, the international SGS certification company has expanded the scope of certification to two additional products: semolina with toasted and fat-free soy flour and toasted soy meal.

The Second international fair and the conference on renewable energy sources, RENEXPO Western Balkans, was held in Belgrade on April 22 and 23. Attention was primarily paid to the plants for biomass and biogas as the fuel for the future, energy efficiency projects which enable more rational consumption of fuels, as well as to the possibilities for investments in this area through connections made between investors, industry leaders, ministry representatives and members of expert associations, and engineering offices.

On the last day of March, a study on the biggest exporters and net exporters in Serbia was presented at the Tanjug press center within the “Arguments” forum, and a panel on the subject “How to Stimulate Export” was also held.

Victoria Group supported the holding of the “NIN Focus” conference about the agricultural policy of Serbia, which was organized in Belgrade on March 25 by the NIN weekly news magazine with the institutional support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia.

This conference, dedicated to the development of agribusiness in Serbia, brought together all the key actors in the process of improving agricultural production and improving the competitiveness of domestic agricultural companies on the world market.

Last week, a presentation was organized in Sojaprotein along with a tasting of high-protein and gluten-free breads made by adding five different types of flour from the product range of the company.

Victoria Group’s Supervisory Board appointed Mr. Claudio Scarrozza as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Mr. Scarrozza brings with him a wealth of unique and relevant sectorial, managerial and geographic expertise, which has been accumulated in his impressive career – spanning several decades in top management positions, at some of the world’s leading multinational agricultural companies – encompassing operations, processing and trading of agricultural commodities.

Victoria Logistic and Sojaprotein received the Danube Soya certificate for the successful implementation of the European standards for the cultivation and processing of non-GMO soybeans, realized early in December. The audit related to the certification process was conducted by SGS, an authorized auditing company, and the representatives of the two companies officially received the certificates from Jovan Zagorac, the Manager of the Agricultural Sector at SGS Serbia.
